Sea glass is glass that has been tossed around in the ocean for years and years until it’s smooth and beautiful. The only pieces of sea glass I’ve ever found are very small; the large pieces are fairly rare.

I was in Nova Scotia last summer and had the opportunity to scratch around in the sand and debris that the waves leave in search of sea glass. It was wonderful!

People who live near the ocean (as I never have) learn where to find sea glass. They know how to look for it.

It reminds me of how we can see people (and ourselves!). Sometimes we have to scrounge around a bit in the debris to find that little bit of something that has been tossed around enough to become smooth and beautiful.
